The Birch Wathen Lenox School is a place where excellence and innovation combine in a responsive environment where every student's voice matters. None of this would be possible without your support through the Lion Fund, the Annual Benefit, and Planned Giving, under the auspices of the Advancement Department.
The Advancement Department is led by Penny Arnold, Director of Institutional Advancement. It supports the school’s mission by building relationships with parents, alumni, grandparents, and friends of the school through events and communications. It also fosters philanthropic relationships in the BWL community and is committed to securing the financial support to create the best future for BWL and all of its students, alumni, and families.

Give to the BWL Lion Fund!As at all other independent schools, tuition does not fully cover the cost of educating our students. Your support makes the difference. The Lion Fund is our annual fund, and it is the heartbeat that drives the opportunities and possibilities of BWL. It fuels innovative programs, supports a dynamic curriculum that sparks discovery and evolves with our ever-changing world, and ensures we can attract and retain extraordinary teachers who inspire our students every day. Your support empowers our children to not only be prepared for the future, but to become the thinkers, leaders, and changemakers who shape it.
In addition, the Fund helps us provide building upgrades and refreshed spaces. Within the last few years, we have redone the Science Lab, remade the Kindergarten, built a Fitness Center, created a new Playroof, added Hydroponic and Aquaponic Farms, refurbished the Lobby, renovated the new Russell Reading and Research Room, and purchased new classroom furniture.
The Lion Fund runs from July 1–June 30 annually, and all donations are tax deductible. We encourage you to make a gift at a level that is meaningful to you; your gift will make a difference!

- If you have established a Donor-Advised Fund, you may recommend a grant to Birch Wathen Lenox.
