Global Poetry Festival 2021
Welcome to the 2021 Global Poetry Festival! For this year's festival, GPC has partnered with Bennington College, the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa, and Shared Studios, among ten prestigious independent schools from around the world. As part of National Poetry month, the Global Poetry Festival will bring students and professional poets together from across the world, representing over ten countries and an array of unique perspectives. At GPC we view poetry as a form through which people from many demographics can find mutual inspiration, collaboration and understanding across borders and disciplines. We have curated this festival as an exchange of perspective and individuality. On this page, throughout the festival week, you will have access to readings, workshops, and projects from Juan Felipe Herrera (Former Poet Laureate of the United States), Ross Gay, Taylor Mali, GPC member school students, and many more. Please click the registration link below to sign up for specific festival events. Afterwards you will receive an email with a link to the event. For a detailed schedule and description of each event you may reference the drop down menu on this page. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email globalpoetryconsortium@gbwl.org.
