Holiday Traditions Thrive in BWL's Hybrid Model

Jessica Lichtenstein and Danielle Lambert

Students and faculty celebrated the holidays with special assemblies and video tributes leading into Winter Vacation.

As part of the Lower School assembly, some students sent video greetings from home, while others shared poetry with a winter theme. Instead of performing in an in-person holiday concert, traditionally held at a nearby church, students took part in a Nutcracker dance activity, followed by a virtual version of The Twelve Days of Christmas.

The Lower School student government sponsored some holiday cheer in the wider community as well: sending a special video message to teachers and creating holiday cards to be delivered to essential hospital workers at Mount Sinai and Lenox Hill.

The Upper School faculty collaborated on a heartfelt video tribute to the students, praising their grit and resilience during this challenging year. We join them in wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2021.
