BWL Junior and star soccer player, Sebastian Azzopardi '23, was called upon by the Malta Football Association to play with the U18 Maltese National Soccer Team in December. Malta is hosting the European Cup at the U19 level in the summer of 2023 and it is trying to build its strongest squad for the tournament.

Azzopardi played two matches against the Republic of Ireland at Tony Bezzina Stadium in Paola, Malta, where he was able to showcase his strong skills, including a match which ended in a 0-0 tie. This was an impressive showing for Malta against one of Europe's powerhouse teams.

Azzopardi currently plays for the U17 Metropolitan Oval team in the MLS NEXT League. This was an amazing accomplishment for the young player and he looks forward to the opportunity to play again for the national team and hopefully earn a spot on the Maltese roster for the European Cup in 2023.
