At, BWL technology truly facilites the educational process for each student. Utilizing a modern, comprehensive infrastructure under the supervision of an informed and tireless faculty, computer literacy is cultivated among our students.
Our BWL Center for Learning and Technology is comprised of three separate labs, each containing enough Macintosh computers for every student to use his or her own. One lab is dedicated solely to Lower School computer instruction, while another is for Middle and Upper School students. The third lab is where teachers can take a writing, math, or research class to expose students to various other disciplines through the use of computers. At BWL, technology is incorporated into every academic subject. In the arts, for example, high-end digital audio and video equipment give a boost to dramatic and musical rehearsals and performances, yielding the most impressive results.
Introductory instruction during Lower School in keyboarding and word-processing evolves into the practice of Internet research in Middle School. In Upper School, advanced electives such as computer science and web design are available. Macs exist in the labs, as well as in every Lower School classroom, the school library also contains Macs for those Middle and Upper School and Lower School students. Throughout our multimedia environment, supervised students are mindful of responsible use, and are aware of how powerful a tool computers can be. Every student and family benefits from BWL’s advanced technological resources that enable the free flow of communication on a daily basis. Our website, with its many dimensions and informational facets, introduces our School to prospective families and keeps our present community connected.
While each Lower School classroom at BWL is equipped with at least one computer workstation, Middle School faculty post homework assignments, make announcements and maintain an effective virtual classroom, all of which helps prevent students from missing important information. Upper School students often communicate with teachers via computer in order to clarify assignments.
In every way, the BWL community thrives with the technological advances that constitute an everyday aspect of the BWL education. We view ourselves as an integral part of the speedily ever-changing world of technology. Our School strives mightily to maintain its foresight in this fast-paced world. |
