The Young People’s Chorus of New York City was featured on World News with Diane Sawyer on Friday, September 23rd, including a brief comment from BWL’s Alec Spector ’18. The segment focused on “Person of the Week” Francisco Nunez, the charismatic founder and artistic director of the chorus since 1988. Nunez recently received a MacArthur “genius” grant, and has developed a uniquely diverse chorus comprised of students from public and independent schools in all five boroughs. The internationally recognized Young People’s Chorus of New York City has released seven original CDs and continues to perform to wide acclaim.
