Summer in the City '12    
In addition to our successful two-week day camp for students in grades K through 6, BWL has recently expanded its summer program to include more courses designed for Middle and Upper School Students.

Henry D. Owen (Birch Wathen ’37, Harvard ’41) an influential diplomat who helped institutionalize global economic summitry in the 1970s, died on November 5th in Washington.
Five AP Scholars in BWL's Class of 2011

Upper School teacher Dr. Wendy Darby is Published in China    
Director of Communications Jessica Lichtenstein recently interviewed Dr. Darby about her book, Landscape and Identity: Geographies of Nation and Class in England (Berg Publishing, 2000), which has now been translated and published in China by Yilin Press, Nanjing, China.
BWL Teachers Team Up and Win Half Ironman Triathlon    
On Sunday, October 2, Lower School science teacher Dean Kelly, Upper School English teacher Tim Donahue, and fifth grade head teacher Charles Miller joined forces to win the MightyMan Half Ironman triathlon in Montauk, NY.
