When you make a gift to the Annual Fund at BWL, you are making a gift that will be spent in the fiscal year in which you make your gift. Your gift will support the school's ongoing operating needs. Gifts to the Annual Fund benefit virtually every aspect of life at BWL. Examples of how an Annual Fund gift is spent include library purchases, financial aid, science lab supplies and equipment for physical education classes.
Gifts to the Capital Program are gifts made in addition to the Annual Fund to support specific goals, programs and projects identified by the Board of Trustees as part of the school's long-range program. Above and beyond BWL's need for annual operating support is the importance of planning and providing for the school’s long-term financial health and academic vitality. The operating budget does not address the need for increased endowment or significant facility improvements. Commitments to the "Shaping our World Capital Program" will enable the school to focus on those priorities. Donors to the Capital Campaign are encouraged to make their gift decisions with the intention of maintaining or increasing their support of Annual Giving.
